Recently, The Swedish Video Game company, Starbreeze revealed that Payday 3 will be coming between 2022-2023. This was revealed by non-other than the developers themselves. This comes from the company that is in a very tight spot because bruising reconstruction that has seen staff leave and subsidiaries sold off. This happened because of the disappointing as well as the disastrous launch of Overkill’s The Walking Dead on Steam. The didn’t do so well which caused severe financial issues and the exit of boss Bo Andersson.
Payday 3 Revealed By The Creators
The company, Starbreeze said they expect new publishing agreements in 2020 and projected a significantly improved cash flow from 2022. This cash flow that the company is talking about is base on the “expected events” which is the release of Payday. The conclusion of a publishing agreement of Payday 3 during the first half of 2020 and financial backing from it, and a payment from the publishing agreement of mobile game Payday: Crime War.
Moreover, Starbreeze told that the assets and personnel relating to its core business were transferred to two new companies. The first one is called Starbreeze Publishing AB and New Starbreeze Studios AB. IP rights were transferred to New Starbreeze Publishing AB. The company said “It is in New Starbreeze Publishing AB that the Group’s cash flows will be generated,”
For those who don’t know what Payday is the official synopsis reads “PAYDAY is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter where you rob banks and get paid. Up to four friends co-operate as the crew tackles jobs that become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along the way, earn more money and customize your character with new skillsets that change the way you play, while also building your own arsenal of guns and gear.”
