Has Station 19 been canceled? after all, this is the question bothering most people out there. Are Seattle’s finest gentlemen and women not going to appear on ABC anymore? Station 19 is a spin-off from Grey’s Anatomy that features the likes of Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George, Grey Damon, Barrett Doss, Alberto Frezza. Created by Stacy McKee, Station 19 breaths of air on ABC. While it’s been over two months since the finale episode of Station 9 came out, we didn’t get any more updates on when Season 3 is going into production. So today I shall talk about that and more.
Station 19, the spinoff of Shondaland’s Grey’s Anatomy is about the crew based in Seattle’s Station 19 — which is the best amongst the best. And mind you, this isn’t just some work crew but over the course of time has become an actual family. Since the job is based upon close ties, those working at Station 19 have become a team and a family, both. Season 2 of Station 19 started with a deadly blaze in which the life of former Captain Pruitt (Sandoval) was hanging by a thread.
Even though ratings for Station 19 have gone down, the second season stood at .02 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.26 million viewers whereas the first Season stood at a rate of 3% in the demo and even in viewers.
So what of Station 19 renewal? Typically, Station 19 will have been great to cash upon. ABC would have loved to keep going a viable Grey’s Anatomy spinoff. But in the end, it all boils down to the ratings. And since the ratings weren’t all that great in the first season, ABC either is looking to redo it or cancel it altogether. In my opinion, ABC and the makers will tweak Station 19 and try to give it a big boost with in-universe crossovers. That’s the only possible outcome I can think of right now is that ABC may give Station 19 a chance, after all, considering it hasn’t performed that bad. Whatever happens, we’ll have to wait for it.
