What is Money Game About?

The nation-toppling story of Money Game revolves around a bank nearing its bankruptcy, and the government has equity in it. Fearing that another financial crisis could occur just like what happened in 1997 – the Asian Financial Crisis (called IMF Crisis in Korea) – the Financial Services Commission tries to prevent such an incident from happening.

The story is about Chae Yi-Hun (played by Go Soo), who is trying to make a name for himself as an economics bureau worker. Along with Heo Jae (played by Lee Sung-Min) and Lee Hye-Joon (played by Shim Eun-Kyung), the trio tries to stop a nation-toppling financial crisis from happening.

Who is the lead cast of the Money Game?

  • Chae Yi-Hun (played by Go Soo) is an economics bureau worker who lives in his father’s shadow, as his father is known as the greatest economist in Korea. Yi-Hun wants to prove to his family that he can succeed on his own.
  • Heo Jae (played by Lee Sung-Min) is Yi-Hun’s boss at the Financial Services Commission. Ambitious by nature, Heo Jae will go to any length to make his ambitions a reality.
  • Lee Hye-Joon (played by Shim Eun-Kyung) is a hard-working employee who has gotten to her position merely through her struggles and dedication. She works at the International Finance Bureau of Ministry of Economy and Finance.
