The Indian attempt at making a magnum opus will be tested soon in theatres this time with the release of Kalank. Kalank stars the like of Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. From what it looks like, it tells the tale of India’s partition and the fate of a few. There’s one character that stands above the rest, and that is Sanjay Dutt’s.
On the outset, it looks like Sanjay Dutt is playing an antagonist in Kalank, his character is gritty and angry. Dutt is known to play the antagonist; he’s done so in movies like Agneepath, Vastav, Khalnayak with an ace. Dutt’s intense dialogue delivery has left audiences intrigued about his character.
There’s a scene where he warns Varun Dhawan’s character to stay away from Alia Bhatt’s character Roop, in another scene he’s hitting Dhawan’s character, Zafar. So if he’s playing against the love leads, it is only obvious that Dutt plays an antagonist in the movie Kalank. It is pertinent to mention here that Dutt plays Balraj Choudhary in Kalank.
Dutt’s Balraj has managed to garner praise more than any other actor in the movie. He’s left a long-lasting impact on the audiences with his few words. As goes for Dutt’s antagonist roles, he will be playing two in Shamshera and Panipat.
Kalank opens in theatres on 17 April 2019. The actors are in full swing to promote the movie throughout the cities of India.
