Fans are going crazy over the show and the viewer base in increases with the seasons. Many have been opposing the show by calling it “unremarkable” and using many such words; it seems like the audience is loving it.
No critics or reviewer’s comments matter until the audience is loving it, and this show is a great example of it. Even though the critics like it or not, the viewers are enjoying it, and that is what makes a great show! Currently, the show is in its eighth season, which is supposed to conclude this month. The eighth season premiered on 10 January 2019, and it is supposed to conclude on 28 February 2019.
Although the show is currently broadcasting its eighth season, fans are wondering whether there will be a ninth season or not. Well, it is too early to ask for an official confirmation for the next season when a season is already in progress. However, we can predict that the show would get renewed as there is no reason to cancel it.
A show needs audience and content, and we are all aware that the show has both. Death in Paradise has been getting tremendous viewers, and the seventh season has 8.34 million average British viewers. It is the most a show could expect! Additionally, the current season also has 7-8 million viewers per episode, which shows that the show is still popular.
It would be pointless if the show gets canceled even though getting this much attention. Therefore, there would be a ninth season in my opinion. Nevertheless, it is not confirmed from the BBC, but we would get a confirmation soon. The filming might start in Spring of 2019.
So, when could the next season premiere if the show gets renewed? Well, it is pretty simple to anticipate, as all the seasons (except the first season) have premiered in January of their respective years. Hence the next season is also anticipated to release in January 2020. Also, all the seasons have eight episodes, and the next season would also have the same number of episodes!

Fans have been looking for more details on Death in Paradise Season 9, but for now, there are very few. A trailer on the show is expected to drop once we get closer to the show’s update. I expect the trailer to be out towards the end of 2019.
Most of the cast that we saw in Season 8’s end will return. There are likely going to be one or two more additions made. More announcements are expected to come in the next few months.

We are still awaiting more details, but nothing is coming out lately. Although, we can take it as a positive sign, as it means that everything is going as per the schedule. If things go right, we might see the show returning in January 2019, similar to the past seasons. Apart from that, the show has been given renewal of the tenth season as well. It was announced while announcing the ninth season. Nonetheless, it does not mean that the tenth season would be its last. No trailer or teaser is out as of now.
