Dr. Stone’s anime adaptation is loved by a lot of viewers and manga readers alike. We will see the last episode next week, just before the battle against the Tsukasa Empire and The Kingdom of Science. With Senku’s phone, they can now control the information and seems like they have one clear shot against the Tsukasa Empire. Now that it seems like we’re getting some cliffhanger in the final episode, would there be a Dr. Stone season 2?
For those who are wondering, Dr. Stone, is a manga created by Richiro Inagaki (creator of Eyeshield 21) and is illustrated by Boichi (creator of Sun-Ken Rock). Its anime adaptation premiered last July and has been going on up until now. Its currently in its 132nd chapter, with the anime adaptation covering almost 50 chapters of the story. This means that there are more than enough materials to cover for Dr. Stone season 2.
According to Anime News Network, a big announcement for Dr. Stone is slated to be released in the third 2020 issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. This important announcement was teased by both Inagaki and Boichi from the second issue, which was released earlier this year. Weekly Shonen Jump’s next issue will be released this December 16, a couple of days after Dr. Stone’s final episode airs. With this in mind, there’s a big chance that the announcement will be about Dr. Stone season 2. It’s one billion percent exciting!
Dr. Stone anime adaptation has been warmly received by a lot of fans, getting a rating of 4.6 out of 5 in Crunchyroll. Although Dr. Stone season 2 is not yet officially announced, it will not be surprising if we are getting it. In addition to the announcement, Dr. Stone will be represented in the Jump Festa 2020 event which will happen on December 22. Hopefully, we will see more of the anime next year or in 2021..
