Game of Thrones Season 9: Will There Be Another Season?
Game of Thrones Season 8 finally wrapped up last Sunday, and now most hardcore fans don’t know what to do with their lives. Game of Thrones has been a big influence for lots of people, including me, and it’s very hard for people to imagine life without it.
Thankfully, the show is continuing with prequels, spin-offs, and who knows, maybe even a sequel. That’s actually one of the biggest questions on the minds of people right now. Will Game of Thrones continue? Will we get another season after this? Let’s discuss that down in this post!
Before we begin, please note this post may contain official spoilers from Game of Thrones Season 8. If being spoiled is not for you, I suggest that you stop reading the post here. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, we can get started. Also, note that we did not create the spoilers or leaked them. They’re available all over the internet.
So, at the end of Game of Thrones, Drogon melted the Iron Throne, Dany died, Jon went North beyond the Wall, Arya went West of Westeros, Sansa became Queen in the North, and Bran became King of the Six Kingdoms. It truly was ‘A Time For Wolves’. As we look at things, the ending is very open, and to be honest, the series can easily continue beyond this. We can see what each of the main members is doing in the next series and whether there are some new threats to face off against. But, will we get another show?
George R. R. Martin recently suggested in a blog post that this isn’t the last that we’ve seen of Westeros. We may get to see more, but only if the next few spin-offs and prequels end up doing well. So, get ready folks. As we get a bunch of prequels, we might even be getting a sequel too! At least we hope that we do.
