Young Black Jack is a story written and illustrated by Yoshiaki Tabata Yu-Go Okama. It is published in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion magazine. Manga has already been on a break in 2017 and then came back in 2018. Creators said that they needed time to create the next arc.
This manga is a prequel story to the story Black Jack which is the work of Tezuka’s classic series. The story of Black Jack is about a brilliant do doctor who practices without a doctor’s license. Now, in the prequel, we see a pretty young version of this doctor when he was still in medical school. This manga is set in the year 1968. Now, this manga is indeed a classy one.
Black Jack is shown how different and weird he was in the eyes of the people around him. The Young Black Jack manga was released in 2011. Since then Akita Shoten has been publishing its compiled versions and the latest one to come out was the fourteenth compiled version which came out in December 2018. Yoshiaki Tabata Yu-Go Okama’s Young Black Jack manga has also been animated as well.
This adaptation came out in 2015 and was streamed via Crunchyroll in Japan. It sure is an exciting manga even the original manga Black Jack is superbly written. This guy who is a doctor in the shadows and wants to operate and treat humans even though he has no license is indeed an intriguing story to behold.
I certainly am willing to pick up both these mangas soon them being Yoshiaki Tabata Yu-Go Okama’s Young Black Jack manga, and Tezuka’s Black Jack manga both of them have indeed caught my eye.
