Exciting news for My Hero Academia fans as a fourth anime movie installment has been officially announced! Accompanying this announcement is a teaser visual featuring Deku, the series’ protagonist, with the iconic visage of All Might in the background. While the premiere date for the new movie in Japan remains undisclosed, fans eagerly await its release.
Simultaneously, production is underway for the seventh season of the TV anime series, which debuted in 2016. This continuation stands on the success of the franchise’s previous cinematic ventures: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (2018), My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019), and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission (2021).
In a world where superpowers, or “Quirks,” have become a key part of society, a new era of heroes and villains has emerged, birthing a global obsession known as “My Hero Academia.” Created by Kohei Horikoshi, this series created the foundation for shounen anime and tournament arcs, having one of the best or even the best tournament arc ever created.
The series is built on themes of heroism, friendship, growth, and self-discovery as Izuku and his classmates navigate the challenges of training, confront personal insecurities, and confront formidable villains, just like any other shounen you’ve watched.

My Hero Academia Movie 4
In the recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine by Shueisha, the confirmation that My Hero Academia movie 4 is in production has set the fandom abuzz. Prior rumors have now been confirmed; tentatively titled “My Hero Academia the movie,” details about the film are currently unknown, with more news promised shortly.
Also, creator Kohei Horikoshi’s decision to align the movie with the character’s ‘original plans’ has piqued interest in the storyline. The film is expected to follow the timeline of the anime, probably after the Paranormal Liberation War events.
The film might sync with the anime’s storyline, falling between the Final War Saga and the Paranormal Liberation War, possibly coinciding with Deku’s departure from UA High School or shortly after that. The only known aspect is that the movie will be set within a ‘collapsed society.”
The major question about the film revolves around its canonicity, as while it may not be officially canon, it could still fit in well within the timeline. It’s important to recognize that this movie reflects the author’s original vision rather than the current story’s direction.

The anime is directed by Kenji Nagasaki and produced by Bones. The scripts are written by Yōsuke Kuroda, while the character designs are handled by Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
