The British TV series, Giri/Haji made its much-awaited international debut in January 2020, however, according to the latest developments, the show will not be getting a season 2 renewal. The crime thriller made its debut on BBC Two, and new updates have surfaced up online, and things are not looking good for the show.

Giri/Haji Season 2 Update
Giri/Haji was looking extremely promising after its first season run, however, things haven’t turned according to the plan as the team was hoping. With an approval rating of 100% and a high rating of over nine on Rotten Tomatoes, fans were sure about the second season, however, as per the latest update, the show has been axed after season 1, and will not be renewed for the next installment.
This has been a highly surprising decision from Netflix and BBC, as the show did an amazing job impressing the critics and the fans, and it even got three nominations at the BAFTA, regardless, the show was canceled, and the official update is confirmed by RadioTimes.
BBC has stated in their official statement that they are extremely proud of the show and the recognition it achieved, however, they axed it in order to create ‘room’ for new dramas. It also added, ‘We are very grateful to Joe [Barton] and the cast and crew for all their hard work on it.’
A spokesperson of Netflix heaped praise fro Joe Barton and his talented team and added that Giri/Haji is a show of ‘huge ambition and style, crossing cultures and continents,’ which are very rare in today’s TV shows.
So as of now, Giri/Haji Season 2 canceled, however, you can watch the first season on Netflix.
