Goblin Slayer Season 2 Releases in October
Goblin Slayer, or GOBLIN SLAYER!, is a dark fantasy light novel series authored by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki. The series has spawned manga adaptations in Monthly Big Gangan magazine, including one by Kōsuke Kurose and another by Masahiro Ikeno, along with a prequel by Kento Eida in Young Gangan.
The novels and manga are licensed by publisher Yen Press for international release. Accompanied by audio drama CDs, the series has gained immense attention. Its anime adaptation by White Fox aired from October to December 2018, followed by the premiere of the anime film “Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown” in February 2020.
The series is directed by Takaharu Ozaki and produced by White Fox, with scripts written by Hideyuki Kurata accompanied by Yōsuke Kuroda, the character designs are handled by Takashi Nagayoshi, and the music is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro.
The main cast includes Yūichirō Umehara voicing Demon Slayer, Yui Ogura voicing Priestess, Yuka Iguchi voicing Cow Girl, Maaya Uchida voicing Guild Girl, Nao Tōyama voicing High Elf Archer, and Yuichi Nakamura voicing Dwarf Shaman.

The Plot
In a fantasy world where adrenaline-fueled adventurers come from distant lands to meet at the Guild, embarking on quests to gain wealth and status. Among them, a novice priestess embarks on her first-ever adventure, but her path is soon darkened when a goblin slaying goes horribly wrong.
As her allies fall or falter, a savior, an unasked hero, emerges. He’s known as the Goblin Slayer, a relentless warrior consumed by an unwavering mission: the utter eradication of goblins, fueled by a personal agenda.
Goblin Slayer isn’t another isekai that made its way to a second season. It’s a hardcore fantasy that’s been around way before Sword Art Online started gaining attention. While some might dislike its dark themes, the show falls well below the darkness levels of series like Berserk and instead operates as a run-of-the-mill R-rated narrative.
In an anime world craving well-written dark fantasy, Goblin Slayer stands as an ideal choice, similar to the vibe of a D&D campaign while putting forward a compelling narrative. The series does a good job of exceeding expectations and proving preconceived views wrong, offering an intense and satisfying viewing experience.
