C8 Corvette has been through a lot of delays, but now the details about it are roaming around the internet at a fast pace. Moreover, some tipster leaked information about C8. This car has an engine state that has a high output aluminum eight-cylinder engine alongside direct injection, variable valve timing, and Active Fuel Management.
This indicates that it will be the base option and should make somewhere between 460 and 500 horsepower based on the specs of the current model. Also, there were rumors that C8 will be the first Corvette that will have a dual-clutch transmission, and it is confirmed by the documents that the tipster leaked. It might even have the dual clutch part which is not surprising, but it does have one more gear than the Tremec TR-9070 transmission which was previously speculated.
The rear axle ratios of 3.62 and 3.80 are listed, which are very different than the C7. Suspension option will be passed down from the C7 with FE1 that continue to be the base suspension. The Wheel is listed which are five-spoke aluminum models that are finished in bright silver, “carbon flash,” machined, and machine w/Spectra Gray. There will be 17 different combinations and colors available for these seats; you can also choose between leather or suede. There are many colors available which including Torch Red and Sebring Orange Tintcoat. There are some new ones here too, like Rapid Blue and Zeus Bronze. As for the roof, there are a total of four different variants among them is “dual roof.” Others are visible carbon fiber, transparent and there will be two separate removable roof panels.
The screen and infotainment system will be 12-inches alongside U2L listing a Digital Audio System accompanied by UVA showing that it will have a front and rear camera. Also, OnStar descriptor is also listed with a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system. Moreover, there will be a Performance Data Recorder, along with a rear cross-traffic alert sensor. The price of Corvette C8 hasn’t been revealed, but it might start around $60,000 to $70,000.
Some say that the C8 Corvette could cost as much as $170,000, but I think that will only be the price for the high-end models. According to reports, Corvette would be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. Some say that Corvette could debut at a standalone event. Production of the C8 Corvette will start late in 2019 and customers will be receiving their cars sometime early to mid-2020.
Updated on 19 July 2019:
The eighth generation of Corvette has come out, although it is mid-engined 2020 version. We all were waiting for it, and here it is, with a European style touch due to its mid-engined design, which surprised many American muscle car fans. With that, there are new equations that Corvette must have faced including stability and driving dynamics, but it looks like everything has been taken care of.
This version will cost you around $75,000 for an automatic version, while the manual 7-speed version is priced at roughly $65,000. So, you have to check the car out and see if it is really worth it, as the car has substantially low cost than other competitors, but it is yet to be known whether it can be compared to those cars or not.
