This truck has an incredible towing power which sends Ram running for its money. Ram’s diesel model possesses a 1,000 pound-feet of torque that could tow up to 35,100 pounds. On the other hand, Chevy tow 35,500 pounds for the diesel-equipped Silverado 3500HD dually.
Moreover, the best thing is that this is the one and only diesel engine Chevy has offers on its HD trucks. It possesses a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel which may produce 445 horsepower outmatches Ram’s top model, but its 910 lb-ft of torque inferior to that of Ram.
The transmission of Silverado is paired with a Duramax diesel with a 10-speed automatic. The basic model has 6.6-liter gasoline V8 which makes it healthy with 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, and it can tow as much as 17,400 pounds. And the gasoline V8 is still paired with a six-speed automatic. Silverado HD has an extra passenger space as well as extra wheelbase.
