Boruto Chapter 39 just came out earlier today, and I this there’s no need to say that the chapter was incredible. We enjoyed every bit of it, and in the next chapter lots of other revelations will be made, we’re sure. First things first, before we begin, please note this post may contain spoilers from the previous chapter of the manga. Boruto Chapter 39 Reveals The Otsutsuki Secret
Boruto Chapter 39 revealed the process of using a vessel to us. According to Jigen, once the Karma is in resonance, it matures faster, and when under the influence of an Otsutsuki, the user will eventually turn into an Otsutsuki themselves. This means that Boruto and Kawaki will both become members of the Otsutsuki clan in time unless the process is halted somehow.
This raises the question of whether all Otsutsuki were humans first and if that’s true, that could well be the reason why they travel in pairs. The reason could be that the pairs show resonance, and hence the transfer becomes easier. That’s why Isshiki needs Kawaki, and why Momoshiki needed Boruto.
Either way, we’ll get more information on this later on as the manga continues.
