The staff for the anime recently released the third promotional video for the upcoming season, titled BASTARD!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy: Hell’s Requiem, which offers an exciting glimpse into the intense action and dark fantasy that awaits us.
To add to the hype, the video introduces the thrilling opening theme song “NEW DAWN” by Coldrain. Accompanying this exciting update, the staff unveiled the second season’s key visual. Are you ready for binging this series when the new 15-episode season will premiere all at once worldwide on Netflix on July 31?
For those who missed the first parts, don’t worry because Netflix made the first 13 episodes available worldwide in 2022, with the second part featuring episodes 14 to 24 premiering last September. BASTARD!! Season 2 takes us back into the mayhem of magic, demons, and intense battles, where darkness peaks out from every corner.

Bastard!! Season 2 Debuts July 31
Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy is based on the manga series of the same name. The manga, written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara, debuted in 1988. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. Although the volumes were published irregularly, the manga has been compiled into 27 volumes, with the most recent chapter released in 2010.
Viz Media secured the publishing license for the manga’s English release in North America, but only the first 19 volumes were published.
Both seasons of Bastard!! is available on Netflix. The theme songs for Season 2 will be performed by the same bands who performed theme songs for the first season. Coldrain will sing New Dawn as the opening theme, and Tielle will sing La Muse Perdue as the ending theme.
The Plot of the Series
Centuries ago Earth dealt with a devastating happening caused by the demon Anthrasax who was defeated by The Dragon Knight, but not before she sent Earth into a new dark era. Back to today, the Kingdom of Metallicana is under attack by the evil Rebel Army, who wishes to bring Anthrasax to life.
So, in a desperate attempt to save the kingdom, the high priest awakens Dark Schneider, a sorcerer who was the leader of the Rebel army.
Dark Schneider awakens in a 14-year-old’s body and is ready to save the world. But what happens when his allies soon discover his past and his contribution to the dark era? The story continues with magic, beasts, and the mission of stopping the revival of Anthrasax.
