The show All American is the brainchild of Greg Berlanti and his husband, former American soccer player Robbie Rogers. This true story follows the journey of the story of former NFL football player Spencer Paysinger’s high school years. Daniel Ezra plays Spencer James (Based n Paysinger) in the lead role, a star wide receiver from Crenshaw High School who transfers to the much whiter and more affluent high school, Beverly Hills High. At Beverly Hills, Spencer deals with firsthand experience of racism in his new surroundings.
