Designated Survivor is the most anticipated shows on Netflix right now. Designated Survivor is one of those shows that was canceled and later picked up by Netflix. So as of now Season 3 of Designated Survivor is all we have been waiting for. While Designated Survivor ratings dropped in the previous Seasons but with Netflix taking over, one can only expect them to rise higher. Filming for Season 3 of Designated Survivor is underway as you read this. This obviously means that there’s going to be some time before Designated Survivor actually comes out.
If you are amongst those who loved Designated Survivor and were furious about ABC canceling the same, the good news is that it comes out sooner than you would want it to. ABC sold all rights to Designated Survivor, and now it’s being billed as a Netflix original. Season 3 of Designated Survivor is not going to take another year or so, that’s assured. In September of 2018, it was announced that Designated Survivor would be coming to Netflix. The number of episodes currently stands at 10.
Designated Survivor, the former political drama on ABC deals with the man, Jack Bauer as the President. It chronicles the early years of President Tom Kirkman’s (Kiefer Sutherland) early days as Commander-in-Chief. ABC canceled the show on May 11, 2019. Though Season 2 was four million weekly viewers, down on the first season’s average audience, ABC maintained that that wasn’t the reason as to why Designated Survivor got canceled. It was due to some creative differences with the team.
As of now, Netflix hasn’t announced when Season 3 of Designated Survivor will come out. But there are two things, given how uncertain things are when it comes to Netflix announcing the updates. First off, I think that Netflix would announce Season 3 on Memorial Day Weekend and give it a window launch. But then there are people that say maybe Fourth of July is the date when Designated Survivor will come out. If Netflix could do something right, it would be to give Designated Survivor Season 3 a July update. More as we have it.
