Warning: this post is filled with spoilers of Season 3, finale episode.
Season 3 finale of “This Is Us” was excessively sentimental with Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) willing to persist and stay together no matter what it took. Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby’s (Chris Sullivan), the couple brought home their son, Kate gave birth to a premature boy named Jack, Kevin (Justin Hartley) after ending things with Zoe (Melanie Liburd) will dive straight into parenting his kid and finally, it looks like Rebecca (Mandy Moore) has Alzheimer’s or dementia.
After Season 3 ended, Sterling K. Brown tweeted, “see you in September, peeps! Love all y’all! #ThisIsUs” so naturally it means that the show will be returning for Season 3 in September. At the same time Dan Fogelman dished on Season 4 of This Is Us, he said there are going to be certain things that we are going to like, there are certain things which we are not going to like.
Season 4 is going to be about Rebecca. Mandy Moore will be put directly into the spotlight in Season 4. We do know a little about Rebecca’s life, such as her mother who’s an uptight, racist, and upper-middle-class woman. I can’t wait for the show makers to get into Rebecca’s early widowed years, post-Jack, her kids have graduated from high school and are going off to college.
This Is Us will end after 2022 or something like that, it is commissioned for 6 seasons. We have 3 more seasons to go and for now, Season 4 is the one that we should be watching out for. NBC and creator, Dan Fogelman, have just three more seasons to bring the entire Pearson saga to an end.
Updated on 20 April 2019:
We have seen in the third season that Zoe broke up with Kevin, and it is confirmed that Melanie Liburd is not supposed to return as a series regular for the fourth season. However, there might be small cameos for her, but not like the previous season. All the other cast members are supposed to return for the fourth season, to keep the story going.
As we mentioned earlier, the show is supposed to release its fourth season in September 2019. The tweet from Sterling K. Brown that suggested Septemberis linked below!
