The Walking Dead Movie First Look AT Comic-Con: Is It Coming To Netflix or AMC?

The Walking Dead movie will be centering around the iconic character of Rick Grimes and it will now run in theaters instead of on AMC. This announced was made alongside a brief teaser video that played at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday. At the end of the video, some words said: “Only in Theaters.” The Walking Dead movie will be distributed by Universal Pictures and there is no release date for it at this point.

Is The Walking Dead Movie Coming Online To AMC or Netflix?

This movie was first announced in late 2018 which followed Andrew Lincoln’s departure from the flagship AMC series. Andrew Lincoln has been with the series from the start and played his role of Grimes since the first episode. The writer of the film will be Scott Gimple who is the Walking Dead’s chief content officer. As for the story, it will continue the story of Rick Grimes. AMC originally planned to begin the production in early 2019 but it is unknown if that is still the case.

The movie will be coming to Theatres only but after a few months, it will be available on AMC, and Netflix, if they manage to get the streaming rights for the movie.

But this won’t be it for The Walking Dead as there are other series planned for it like Fear the Walking Dead as well as a third untitled series. This third untitled series is said to follow the story of the first generation of kids to grow up during the zombie apocalypse. Moreover, Fear the Walking Dead’s sixth season was announced on Friday.

With the exit of Lincoln, the series received a major blow and it won’t end there as another leading character will be leaving the show were soon. It was confirmed by Danai Gurira herself that she is will exit from the series in Season 10 as well. The only long-serving cast members on the popular series that remains are Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride.
