This Anime focuses on the life of Masato Edamame who is Japan’s greatest swindler. He works together with his partner Kudo, they try to trick a Frenchman in Asakusa but end up getting tricked instead. The Frenchman is Laurent Thierry whom they tried to swindle. Laurent is a much higher-level confident man in control of the mafias. Edamame has not found out what trouble is coming to his way. He ends up getting involved with the Frenchman’s dirty jobs.
In the last episode of Great Pretender, Edamame decides to join Clark’s mechanic team. He convinces them that he can improve his plane’s performance, and Sam decides to test him to see if it is the truth. Sam does not trust that Edamame improved the engine. Abby remembers about her past when she prepares for her next race. Sam places a bet of 300,000 dollars on Abby and Sam is not disappointed because she mages to win. In the evening Laurent’s gang talked about Sam if he will go all-in or not. Meanwhile, Laurent believes that due to lack of money available funding will force Sam to go in. Abby is lying on bed searching up information about Lewis online.
She remembers the day she won the medal in a ballet recital, only to be caught in the bombing of Baghdad as she and her parents walked home. Abby later became a child soldier and she got badly injured by a grenade during the fight The next day, Sam bets 1 million dollars on Abby. Abby manages to win her race for the second time in a row. Meanwhile, Laurent reveals Mike’s true identity that he is Sam.
Laurent bans Sam from the casino for gambling under someone’s identity. Clark wins his next race, and Edamame suggested that he go and place bets on Sam’s behalf. Sam agrees and told Edamame to bet 2.5 million dollars on Caio Bisconti. Before the race begins, Cynthia visits Caio’s hangar, and seduces tries to him. Meanwhile, Abby secretly drops a tiny explosive into his plane’s fuel compartment.
The explosive causes the plane’s engine to stop working properly Caio make an emergency water landing due to the explosives. Sam to lose the bet due to the emergency landing that Ciao made earlier. At night, Edamame went looking for Abby, but Isabelle tells him that she went out for a walk with Lewis. Abby went with Lewis to the Gardens she asks Lewis if he was part of the 2003 bombing of Baghdad. She tries to scare him using a knife telling him to think about the people who died in the past.
