The staff of Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning, the upcoming film in the Digimon Adventure 02 anime, has recently revealed four character poster visuals. Along with these, they released a new video previewing the clean ending sequence, set to the song “Ashita wa Atashi no Kaze ga Fuku” by Ai Maeda.
The film, scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 27, 2023, continues the story in February 2012, following the events of the Digimon Adventure Tri. anime and the Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna anime.
The film also explores the adventures of the main lead, Daisuke Motomiya (known as Davis Motomiya in English), and other central characters at 20 years old.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning’s Cast & Staff
The anime film is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi, animated by Yumeta Company and produced by Toei Animation. The scripts are written by Akatsuki Yamatoya.
Digimon Adventure 02 is the first direct television anime sequel to the original Digimon Adventure series, introducing a fresh set of main characters. It aired in Japan from April 2000 to March 2001, followed by its U.S. broadcast from August 2000 to May 2001.
In addition, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna was released as a sequel film, and told the story of “the last adventure of Tai and Agumon.” Premiering in Japan in February 2020, the film’s internationally released in 2020-2021.
The Cast
The newly announced cast includes Megumi Ogata as Rui Ōwada, a mysterious youngster who descended from Tokyo Tower and says, “I was the first in the world to become a DigiDestined,” and Rie Kugimiya as Ukkomon, a Digimon who resembles like a slippery marine creature and who is the key to the plot.
The returning cast members include Fukujurō Katayama voicing Daisuke Motomiya, Junko Noda voicing V-Mon, Arthur Lounsbery voicing Ken Ichijōji, Naozumi Takahashi voicing Wormmon, and Ayaka Asai voicing Miyako Inoue.
Additionally, Kouichi Toochika voices Hawkmon, Yoshitaka Yamaya voices Iori Hida, Megumi Urawa voices Armadimon, Junya Enoki voices Takeru Takaishi, Miwa Matsumoto voices Patamon, M.A.O voices Hikari Yagami and Yuka Tokumitsu voices Tailmon.
The Plot of Digimon Adventure 02
When seven kids attend summer camp, a sudden July snowfall surprises them. Amid the confusion, they’re given peculiar devices that take them to a different world. Upon waking up there, they encounter creatures known as “Digimon” who reveal they’re in the “Digital World,” far from home.
Armed with only their Digimon partners and the “Digivices,” the group, led by impulsive Taichi Yagami and his hungry Digimon, Agumon, need to find a way home all while discovering mysteries of this new world and facing unknown threats along the way.
