TEOTFW: The End of the F***ing World Season 2: Plot, Cast, And Release Date Details

TEOTFW Season 2 Release Date

Back in January 2018, Netflix received the masterpiece that is The end of the f***ing world, and nobody who’s watched it has been able to stop talking about it since then. The show has been so good that fans were craving for a second season to the Netflix series on the same day the first one dropped, and that says a lot about how the show has been received overall.

A second season was immediately announced, and it got mixed reactions. On the one hand, everyone wanted the show to continue because it was so, so good and actually did justice to the source. On the other hand, the graphic novel that it is based on ended exactly where the first season did and a continuation would mean going a bit off the road. I, for one, am glad that we’re getting another season to the show.

So now let’s discuss what we know about the second season of the show so far. Please don’t go ahead if you don’t like spoilers. There are a few spoilers in this post here an there, so if you don’t like being spoiled, I suggest that you stop reading the post here. However, if spoilers don’t bother you, let’s begin.

Beth Willis, who is head of dramatic programming at Channel 4, spoke to Deadline some time ago, and had this to say:

“We’re so proud that this global success story began at Channel 4 and that a second series is on its way. [Writer Charlie Covell’s] witty, wonderful world is back and we can’t wait to see where she takes it next.”

Unfortunately, we might have to wait a bit longer for The End of the F***ing world season 2. Sources have been reporting that we’re going to have to wait for at least until early 2020 for the show to drop. A release this year doesn’t seem possible.

The plot will probably reveal the fate of James, and everyone wants to find out what actually happened. Regardless of that, we’ll certainly see the kids get into some more trouble, and this time around, we might see a bit more interesting stuff.

Finally, we have more updated to provide you, and it would make you even more excited. The world is waiting for the second season, but it is still a lot of time to wait before getting it. The main news is that the show has finally started filming, which is a good move of course. The shooting started on 4 March 2019, and it looks like they are working hard to complete the second season as soon as possible.

Now, coming to the release date of the second season, we might even consider a late 2019 release if the creators have slated to make it. The shooting start in March shows that there are fair chances of seeing the new episodes by the end of this year. But it depends on production schedules, and they have to keep some space for unexpected hurdles. Take a look at the official tweet!

Updated on 16 July 2019:

While all the fans are waiting for the show to return, there seems to be no official answer to when will it return. It seems that Channel 4 started filming it but then forgot to wrap it, just kidding! The last time we got an update about filming was in March 2019, and the show was well into the filming of the second season. But the question remains the same, what is stopping it from releasing? Well, it might be the release schedule, as they might not want to take a chance of releasing on a different time. The first season was released in October 2017 on television, and I think they might release it with a similar schedule in 2019. Nonetheless, it might not come out before 2020 on Netflix, and it was also proposed that it will take approximately one year after the television broadcast. I hope it changes, and we get to see the show earlier!

Also, we expect more episodes in the next season, and with extended duration, as the first season seemed to small. Moreover, everyone is waiting for the next season to know what happened to James, as the first season ended with a cliffhanger without showing James’ fate. Hence, it would be interesting to see what happens ahead!
