Multi-platinum rapper 50 Cent made an unexpected visit to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, where he posed for a photo with controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert, generating a buzz online.
The “In da Club” artist shared a photo on X (formerly known as Twitter) with his arm around Boebert’s waist at the White House, captioning it: “Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the white house [sic] look good,” accompanied by a winky face emoji.
The post quickly sparked reactions from X users, who commented with questions such as, “What movie did you guys see?” This was a reference to Boebert’s infamous date in a Denver theater with a Democrat, during which they were filmed engaging in intimate behavior.
Another commenter referred to Boebert’s date with, “Beetlejuice beetlejuice beetlejuice,” alluding to the musical she attended before being ejected from the theater for her behavior, which included groping and vaping.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, responded to the comments on X hours later. “Wait, wait, guys I took pictures with everyone and all you seem to care about is Lauren,” he tweeted.
“What did she do in a dark theater that hasn’t been done, my God ! Hey I don’t have chlamydia by the way. LOL.”
The “Just a Lil Bit” and “Candy Shop” hitmaker later shared additional photos with politicians from both parties during his visit to DC, where he was advocating for increased opportunities for Black entrepreneurs in the liquor industry.
In another post, Boebert shared a photo of herself with 50 Cent on her own X page, writing, “I’d still love you if you flipped burgers at Burger King. @50Cent, I used to do that myself! Thanks for the photo, great to meet you!”
