Robert De Niro To Receive SAG Life Achievement Award Presented by Leonardo DiCaprio
The producer of the SAG Awards announced that Leonardo DiCaprio would present the SAG Life Achievement Award to Robert De Niro next month at the 26th annual ceremony. Both the actors starred together in 1993 in This Boy’s Life. At that time, both DiCaprio was a teenager. Other movies in which both have worked together are Marvin’s Room and The Audition.
Robert De Niro is going to be the 56th recipient of the SAG Life Achievement Award. He has already won Oscar. He will be given the honor on the 19th if January. It will go live on TNT and TBS. The award is given once in a year to an actor who has performed outstandingly well and has shown the finest talents of his acting profession. Last year, the winner of the award was Alan Alda.
De Niro is highly popular for winning the Oscar two times for the movies The Godfather Part 2 and Raging Bull. He also acts in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and can be seen in Joker. Niro would also be playing Robert Mueller on Saturday Night Live. He has very praised highly by Gabrielle Carteris, who said that he has extraordinary depth and ability. Niro is capable of captivating our minds with his acting performances. His characters have become very memorable such as Vito Corleone, Jake Lamotta, Ben Whittaker. He has continued to impact our hearts and minds with lots of emotions.
De Niro has been nominated seven times for the Academy Award, six times for BAFTA and nice times for the Golden Globe. He has also been nominated four times for sag Awards for his works in Silver Linings, Playbook, Marvin’s Room, and for playing Bernie Madoff in The Wizard of Lies. Niro also mentioned how honored he is to receive the award and that he was a member of the union for over 50 years.
