League of Legends is supposed to come out for mobile devices soon as per the reports, and all the fans are already excited for it. However, the game is still in early phases of development, so do not hold your breath for it. As we know, the game is called League of Legends: Wild Rift, and will not be named same as the main PC game, to differentiate it further!
Although the game is currently under development, the game has already started making news for its continuous beta test that is being conducted. Therefore, fans are also curious whether the game is supposed to come out sooner than they think. Hence, we will be providing you all the details related to other major involving things. So, let’s get started!
Is League of Legends: Wild Rift Already Under Beta Tests?
The answer is exciting for the fans as the game has already started beta testing. However, I have mentioned that it is not even close to completion, hence the beta tests are closed, which means, the developers are testing the game internally and not looking for any beta testers. Thus, the company does not have any plans to extend the program to other fans as of now, but we might soon see an open beta testing phase as they are progressing fast!
League of Legends: Wild Rift update
League of Legends: Wild Rift is supposed to release for mobile phones sometime in 2020, but no confirmed update has been released by Riot Games. The game will be first released to mobile devices as per the current plan, and then will be rolled out to consoles! So, mobile gamers will be excited for sure. But we are still waiting for a full release schedule from Riot Games, which might be coming later this year. While we are expecting the mobile release in 2020, but the console release will not be happening before 2021 as per the current scenario. Nonetheless, it means that we might get the game directly on the newer generations of consoles such as PS5 and Xbox Scarlett.
League of Legends: Wild Rift Gameplay
While we are waiting for we do have some confirmed details about gameplay of the upcoming LoL game! The mobile game is supposed to be a 5vs5 MOBA format, which is different than what we used to play in the original game. However, it was confirmed earlier so we are not sure if there is any changes to their plan. Here is the official trailer of the game, which was released last year while announcing the game!
Apart from that, there will be several things that will be entirely made to make it appropriate for mobile gaming. First confirmed information that has come out is that the rounds will last only for around 20 minutes, as majority of them were clocked at 18 minutes. So, the mobile gamers will have a pleasant experience while playing on a smaller device and not get bored. Aside from that, we are also expecting eSports events to be organized by Riot Games for the game, so the professional players can compete on the world level!
League of Legends has always got a reputation to take on the ongoing trends of gaming, and we are expecting the same for the mobile version of the game!
“We’re going to begin the process of rolling alphas and betas through the end of the year, starting in China,” a representative from Riot Games explains. “The plan is to have the mobile version fully live everywhere in the world by the end of 2020, with console coming sometime after. “We rebuilt the game from scratch (like… the whole thing). Refreshed models, animations, game systems and more—but keeping true to the core League of Legends gameplay you already know. We didn’t want to just port League on PC 1:1—we want to make sure Wild Rift feels like it was designed for new platforms, and use that opportunity to make a bunch of improvements to the game. While you won’t get your unlocks from League PC, you’ll get some cool rewards for the time you’ve spent in the PC version.”
Currently, Riot Games is busy working for Teamfight Tactics which is coming out to mobile devices in March 2019, hence, we are expecting that after the release of the game, they might focus on LoL Wild Rift and we might get more frequent news.
However, coming to the mobile market will not be easy for League of Legends: Wild Rift. We know that the game has a lot of competition from other MOBA games that are currently ruling, such as Call of Duty: Mobile and PlayUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). But, Call of Duty was also facing similar counter questions before rolling out its mobile version, and now the game has already surpassed 180 million downloads in just three months. Hence, the outcome is nothing to be worried as of now for LoL, which is a giant name in gaming world.
The Twitter handle of the game has tweeted at last after a couple of tweets saying, “Hey everyone! It’s been super fun getting to reveal League of Legends: Wild Rift to the world, but we’re gonna go dark for a while as we get the game ready. We’ll post here when we have larger updates for alphas and betas in the coming months. Thank you all! See you soon!” Which means, they will be coming out only when they will have more details to share with us.
