Crunchyroll, the leading global anime streaming platform, excites fans with its latest addition to an already impressive lineup. The platform announced the addition of the well-known “Psycho-Pass 3,” the third season of the anime series, and the film “Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector” to its watch list. Both the anime can be streamed in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Italian subtitles or in the German dub.
Psycho-Pass 3 takes place in a near future society where advanced technology is used to detect the chances of an individual committing a crime based on their mental state. Written by Gen Urobochi and directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani, the third season introduces new characters while maintaining the setting fans have come to love and enjoy.
To complement Psycho-Pass 3, Crunchyroll also brings the film, “Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector,” to its streaming platform. Serving as a form of closure for the third season, this three 45-minute episode-long anime film answers all the questions left behind by the third season.
Crunchyroll is one of the top platforms to stream all your favorite anime and even read your most loved manga. Adding the Psycho-Pass series to its lineup does a huge favor for fans who couldn’t access the show, as it previously only streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
Psycho-Pass: The Anime Series
With its intricate storyline, fascinating characters, and deep themes, Psycho-Pass has become a must-watch for fans of dark and psychological anime. Debuted in 2012, this anime, which explores deep philosophical questions, quickly created a niche group of fans.
Set in a not-so-distant future, Psycho-Pass introduces us to a time when the human psyche is measured and controlled by technology. Imagine a society where a simple scan can determine your mental health and the likelihood of you becoming a criminal. Sounds insane, right? Well, that’s what Psycho-Pass is about.
There’s also something called the Sibyl System. This supercomputer accesses everyone’s “Psycho-Pass,” a psychological test that measures your emotional state, chances of criminal behavior, and overall mental stability. It’s like having a judge, jury, and executioner in your head. To think this could become a reality is scary.
From charming psychopaths (Ted Bundy much?) to sadistic master criminals, each villain in the anime makes us doubt everything we know about morals and the nature of evil. But hope is seen through our characters, mainly Akane. There is hope for a better world, and we’re relying on her.
Psycho-Pass has become a fan favorite, entertaining fans worldwide. Its creative mix of sci-fi, psychological thriller, and social commentary greatly impressed viewers, who couldn’t help but question the nature of the world they live in. Trust us; it’ll take you a while to answer the question, “What is a perfect world?”
The mystery and suspense in Psycho-Pass are similar to Death Note or Future Diary in a sense it tells the audience almost nothing about the crimes. Flaws in the Sybil System are exposed too, and the danger of relying on psycho-pass scans becomes clear.
If a person is having a bad day, the chances of criminal behavior increase in the past due to a bad mood, and if this keeps happening, the individual is eventually labeled as a criminal, which leads to undeserving execution. Doesn’t sound like a good system.
The character development in Season 1 is great, from Makishima’s mission to destroy the system to Kougami’s wish to kill the greatest threat. The character’s developments and their weaknesses add layers to the story, making it a thrilling and interesting watch.
