The horror movie Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is all set for a direct sequel, so what as fans if the series should you expect?
Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is directed by André Øvredal and co-produced by Guillermo del Toro. The movie is based upon Alvin Schwartz short story collection by the name ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’. The adaptation was done by Dan Hagerman and Kevin Hagerman into the original spooky tales for the big-screen adaptation.
It’s 1968 and the plot of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark kicks off. It is about a group of Mill Valley, Pennsylvania teenagers who join forces against the bullies on Halloween, only to end up exploring an eerie and what looks seemingly a vacant mansion. It is here that Stella Nicholls (Zoe Colletti) finds a book written by Sarah Bellows, she’s drawn into the tale of 19th-century nightmares and real-life horror. Meanwhile, Stella’s friends Auggie Hilderbrandt (Gabriel Rush) and Chuck Steinberg (Austin Zajur), are missing. She must do everything to bring them back. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark 2 may be a direct continuation of the previous plot. You may expect the filmmakers to dive into Stella’s life further.
It is important to mention that Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark 2 is yet to be green-lit yet. The sequel depends upon how the first movie does at the box office. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark grossed $20.84 million at its opening weekend. If things go well, the sequel may begin filming in the first half of 2020 for a 2021 release date.
