The capital and greatest city of the Six Kingdoms is King’s Landing. King’s Landing is located on Westeros’ east coast in the Crownlands, just north of where the Blackwater Rush empties into Blackwater Bay and overlooks Blackwater Bay.
It is the home of the Iron Throne and the Red Keep, as well as the seat of the King of the Andals and the First Men (hence the name). It has a pleasant environment and a way of life for those who can afford it, yet it does have slums such as Flea Bottom. Despite the City Watch’s efforts, the city is overcrowded and hazardous at the best of times.
It’s from the series Game of Thrones. David Benioff and D. B. Weiss developed this HBO fantasy drama television series. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy books, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The show was shot in several countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain.
It debuted on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and ended on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes spread across eight seasons. Nine noble houses fight the war against one another in an attempt to seize control of Westeros, the legendary kingdom. Meanwhile, a force emerges millennia later that threatens the existence of living men.

The first major storyline revolves around the Iron Crown of Westeros, which is represented by a web of political struggles between noble families competing for the throne or battling for independence from whoever sits on it. A second centers on the last descendant of the realm’s overthrown royal line, who has been banished to Essos and is preparing a return to the throne. The third follows the Night’s Watch, a military force tasked with guarding Westeros against dangers from beyond its northern border.
King’s Landing: Its plot in GOT
King Aegon I Targaryen, King of the Andals and the First Men, established King’s Landing. He built a tiny wooden fort atop the hill in his honor, dubbed the Aegonfort, where his ships first landed from Dragonstone, and used it as a base for his effort to conquer the continent. He erected the new capital on the location of his first fort after achieving his purpose. Under his successors, the city grew significantly. By the time of Robert’s Rebellion, the city had a population of about 500,000 people.
Throughout its history, King’s Landing has been attacked on occasion, most notably during the civil war known as Robert’s Rebellion, when Lord Tywin Lannister betrayed King Aerys II Targaryen and commanded his army to destroy the city before handing it over to Robert Baratheon as a pledge of allegiance.
The issues at King’s Landing have become worse throughout the War of the Five Kings. The worst of them are food shortages, which are exacerbated by an influx of refugees seeking safety from the conflict beyond the city walls; this even led to a riot early in the war, during which the High Septon and Aron Santagar, among others, died.
Attack on King’s Landing
Despite its luxury and importance as the capital, King’s Landing is frequently derisively referred to by outsiders, most likely owing to corruption and low living conditions like water purification. The stench of human waste is a constant problem; the dense population and sea air make such odors more potent.
At the conclusion of her campaign, Daenerys Targaryen, Drogon, and Daenerys’ armies launched an attack on King’s Landing. The defending army surrendered, but Daenerys and Drogon continued to raze the city, destroying portions of the Red Keep and slaughtering civilians and soldiers alike.
Tyrion Lannister is chosen Hand of the King once more after the killing of Daenerys Targaryen and the election of Bran Stark as the next king, and he leads the attempt to reconstruct the city with the new tiny council. The new hand has also promised to prioritize the construction of a new water purification system.
King’s Landing Filming Locations
“Game of Thrones” actress Conleth Hill acknowledged in an HBO interview that the exteriors of King’s Landing were shot in Croatia while the interiors were shot in Northern Ireland. The King’s Landing gates, on the other hand, are in Malta, and the road leading from the landing, the Dark Hedges, is in Northern Ireland.
Fortress Lovrijenac was the Red Keep, the filming locations of Kings Landing, the Battle of Blackwater Bay, and the House of the Undying dungeon. It is a really good choice for shooting, which made the scenes more realistic and visually special for the Kingdom.
