Zoe Kravitz Joins The Cast of Upcoming The Batman Movie And Will Be Playing The Role Of Catwoman
Zoe Kravitz from “Big Little Lies” has joined the cast of the upcoming movie of Batman. It was reported by Variety that she will be playing the role of Catwoman who is the antiheroine as well as somewhat of a love interest of the Caped Crusader, in the upcoming “The Batman” of Matt Reeves. Robert Pattinson will be starting alongside Batman. The production of the movie pic is expected to start this summer.
The Batman Production Details
There isn’t a start date for this but according to Variety, filming could start in late 2019 or early 2020. “The Batman” is scheduled to hit theaters 25 June 2021. Reeves is a very talented filmmaker and his last two film’s “Planet of the Apes” sequels were pretty good. He took over the directing duties of “Batman” from Ben Affleck in January 2017. Ben Affleck departed from his role as Batman following the “Justice League,” which allowed Reeves to pick his own Bruce Wayne.
The movie will be produced by Reeves’ “Planet of the Apes” collaborator Dylan Clark. Kravitz is coming off her second season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” which was the finale of the show and it released in July. Moreover, she also has the Hulu series “High Fidelity” which is coming out this year. The role of Catwoman was last played by Anne Hathaway in “The Dark Knight Rises.” released in 2012.
Before that, it was played by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992’s “Batman Returns.” Furthermore, Catwoman received her own feature film, with Halle Berry in the role, back in 2004. As for the plot, there isn’t much revealed about the plot of The Batman but it has been reported that it set in the ’90s, early on in Bruce Wayne’s costumed career.
