Train to Busan, who surprisingly hit worldwide, grossing $85 million overseas on $8.5 million budget. It is going to get its 2nd sequel in 2020. The story is about a sudden zombie outbreak in South Korea, with the passengers on board a speeding train to Busan struggling to survive.
Yeon Sang-ho, the film director and screenwriter, revealed the working title for the Train to Busan is “Bando,” which translates to Peninsula. He also added that Train to Busan 2 is going to be more desperate and fierce for the battle for surviving then Train to Busan.
In this sequel, the actors and characters will be different than the first film, which will be searching for a cure for the zombie outbreak, which ravages South Korea. Actor Song Joong Ki will be the Train To Busan 2’s new lead character while Gong Yoo won’t be in the lead this time but might make a cameo in the sequel and likely to return as a zombie. Kang Dong Won, Lee Jung Hyun, Lee Re, Kwon Hae Hyo, Kim Min Jae, and Goo Kyo Hwan have also been confirmed as cast members.
This sequel doesn’t have it’s trailer yet. But according to Director Yeon Sang-ho, the film will premiere on 12 August 2020. Train to Busan will be remade in English, which is supposed to produced by the director of Aquaman James wan with the screenwriter behind IT and the director of Annabelle 3 Gary Dauberman.
