The Official Synopsis for The Suicide Squad (2021)

The official synopsis for The Suicide Squad begins with a clear statement “Welcome To The Hell, also called Belle Reve,” a prison that is considered to have the highest mortality rate in the entire United States where the worst Supervillains are kept as they try to do anything to break free even if it leads to joining the shady Task Force X. The synopsis continued with the question of today’s do or die assignment stating the assembling of cons, which includes the likes of Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn who are armed heavily and ordered to set off on an enemy-infused remote island of Corto Maltese.

The Synopsis continued detailing Colonel Rick Flag, who will be the one and only Government official tagged along with a bunch of lunatic villains to keep an eye on them. Rick Flag makes the group behave and takes the group trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn as they are set out on a search-and-destroy mission with Amanda Waller and her government techies tracking their every movement. Like in the previous movie, one bad move from these villains is that they are dead, let it be from their enemies, teammates, or Waller herself. The synopsis ended by stating that if anyone wants to bet, then the smart money is against all of them.

Well, that’s as of now enough to see what we are looking forward to in the next James Gunn Directorial The island of  Corto Maltese is something to notice which is home to the rebels which was backed by the Soviet Union and against the United States who at last sent Superman to destroy it as showcased in the comics.

On the other hand, the synopsis has fairly mentioned a psycho Harley Quinn stating we might get a more crazy version of her from the time we saw her in 2016, which was heavily applauded for Maggie Robert’s impressive portrayal. We can notice that Suicide Squad is still under the hands of Amanda Waller herself, and much like the previous movie, the rules are still the same as the team is set to hunt down the Nazi-prison that conducted experiments on political prisoners. This new mission could ease the statement for our fellow villains.

Anyway, directed by James Gunn, known for directing Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise, The Suicide Squad will be releasing in theatres on August 6, 2021, along with a release on the HBO Max on the same date. The movie stars an ensemble cast of Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi. The movie will also serve as the prequel for the upcoming spin-off of HBO Max’s original series, Peacemaker featuring John Cena, which will see James Gunn directing a few episodes again.
