OPM / One Punch Man Season 2 premiered back in April 2019, and in it was a season full of ups and downs. The show was plagued with a lack of production time and very bad pacing, which gave us a very rough version of what could’ve been really good. All that is in the past now, as all eyes will be on One Punch Man Season 3.
Fans are waiting in anticipation for the next season of the show, and hopefully, it won’t be anything like what we saw earlier this year. For now, we don’t even know anything about One Punch Man Season 3, but we have heard a bunch of speculations that we’ll be discussing with you guys, so let’s get started!
Before we begin, please note this post may contain official spoilers from the next season of the anime.
Earlier it was anticipated that the third season of One Punch Man will be releasing in Fall 2020, and but from the way things are right now because of the coronavirus, Season 3 might be delayed to Mid 2021 to Fall 2021. This is because around the world, all work is being shifted to home; animation and production of the anime from home is surely going to affect the speed of the work.
Despite One Punch Man not being renewed for the third season, it is somewhat confirmed because of the popularity of the anime. We will return with further updates as soon as we have any information on One Punch Man Season 3 from JC Staff.
Renewal Status: Not Renewed (March 23, 2020)
Production Status: No Update (March 23, 2020)
Fans have also created a petition to bring back the previous director for the third season of One Punch Man, as the second season suffered greatly in the terms of animation quality. You can also sign the petition if you did not like the quality.
One Punch Man Season 3 will release in Japan in Fall 2020 or Spring 2021, at this point, this is all but rumors, we will update you with the accurate information. We cannot confirm or deny this. It is just speculation, but take into account the fact that the production for the next season is ongoing, it’s hard to see the show return in Spring 2020. Decent production time for the show would be six months, at the very least, which would push the preferred release date back to Fall 2020, in our opinion.
The next season of the show will also be focusing more on Garou, among many other characters. Along with that, we’ll be introduced to the concept of limiters and the source of Saitama’s true strength. It’s going to be a very interesting season, so let’s hope we get an announcement soon!
