Sacred Games, the Netflix original released on the digital giant in 2018 and proved to be a major hit. It marked the beginning of Indian Netflix originals to be followed by many such shows. Sacred Games Season 2 received a green light last year only. As of today, the countdown to Season 2 has begun, “with just six more days to go,” says the Netflix_in teaser poster.
Netflix since March has kept hyping Season 2 of Sacred Games. A post that preceded the above one (March 19, 2019) said: “something big is about to happen in 14 days.”
The latest news in the development of Sacred Games Is that Netflix shared photos of different sorts of Mandala designs combined with the names of four episodes of Sacred Games. The four-episode names are as: “Bidalah-a-Gita,” “Katham Asti,” “Antara Mahavana” and “Unagamam.” Sacred Games Season 1 had something to do with the Mandala designs in the Season 1. The eight episodes in a similar fashion were named as Ashwathama, Halahala, Atapi Vatapi, Brahmahatya, Sarama, Pretakalpa, Rudra and Yayati.
Sacred Games is based upon Author Vikram Chandra’s best-selling novel by the same name. Season 1 was co-directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. It begins when a Mumbai police officer Sartaj receives an anonymous phone call giving him leads to the capture of Ganesh Gaitonde, criminal overlord of the G-Company.
Sacred Games has boasted of a powerful cast, all of them hailing from the Indian film industry. For Season 2 of Sacred Games, expect the following to be back.
Saif Ali Khan will be back as police officer Sartaj Singh
Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be back as overlord Ganesh Gaitonde as Guruji, Gaitonde’s third father
Vikramaditya Motwane is the show-runner, and Varun Grover is the lead-writer for Season 2. Director Anurag Kashyap will direct Gaitonde’s plot, and Neeraj Ghaywan will take over Sartaj’s plot.
