Snowfall has been renewed for a third season at FX. This comes as good news for all the fans. The drama will be returning in 2019. The second season of the show ended on September 20, 2018. The show follows the origins of the cocaine epidemic which took place in Los Angeles in the 1980s. FX’s Eric Scarier told that he’s happy to see that the audience is growing. Eric also said that it’s great to see the growth of the critical acclaim after season two.
He was also full of praise for the creative team. He said that the creative team had done a great job with the second season and he hoped for more of the same in the third season. It’s obvious that the fans will also be expecting to the third season to be better or at least on the same level as season two.
The first season of Snowfall aired on Showtime in July 2017. The second season was picked up by FX, and it premiered in July 2018. So, it’s plausible to assume that the next season will also come in July later this year. However, it is still not confirmed when will the third season release. But we are affirmative about Damson Idris’ return as Franklin.
Now moving to the cast. The main cast will be back for the new season. Here is the possible cast for the third season:

So far, we have got no details about the plot of the third season. However, the ending of the second season was very explosive, and most likely it will carry into the third season. Franklin will face a difficult task in going against the CIA. Also, Teddy has told that he had been undercover, so it would increase problems for Franklin, as he does not have someone on his back!
Snowfall season 3 has kept security as tight as possible. After being renewed by FX for a third season, we have heard the bare minimum about the next season. Even we’re surprised at the lack of information out on the upcoming season, and this leads us to speculate that maybe the show will be delayed. We’re already almost in April 2019. The third season of the show is expected to drop at around July 2019. However, so far, it doesn’t seem that they’re aiming for a July update.
In my opinion, we may be seeing a slight delay in the update of the show. If that does happen, we’ll let you know. For now, this is just pure speculation, but one that we think is more likely to come true than not.

We are closely monitoring the progress of the show, but nothing solid is coming out lately. It is not even known whether the show has started filming or not, but it must have started as it got renewal back in September 2018. While we wait, we would be happy to know if the show is supposed to return in its usual slot or not, which is not yet announced. The IMDb page also shows that the show is supposed to return with the third season in 2019, but nothing more specific is known.
We were expecting a June or July release, although it looks tough as of now. However, it still depends on FX whether they are ready with the next season or not. The plot will be more interesting as Franklin’s most trusted guy is no more trustable, as Teddy was undercover. So, it would be interesting how Franklin continues his illegal activities, without help from Teddy.

Finally, the show is supposed to return with its third season soon, and the update is now confirmed. It was announced that the show would return on 10 July 2019, at 10 PM on FX as we know. So, get ready to see another dramatic season of cocaine drama Snowfall, with a big twist or cliffhanger to answer.
