About Jurassic World Dominion movie
Jurassic World Dominion is an American science fiction and action film, a sequel to the 2018 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Director Colin Trevorrow is also its writer, along with Emily Carmichael. This part will give a conclusion to the story that started some thirty years back with the 1993 movie Jurassic Park. Jurassic World Dominion takes place four years post the destruction of Isla Nublar. And now, these giants have taken over human settlements where humans have to compete with them for their survival.
Christopher Pratt (as Owen Grady ) and Bryce Howard (as Claire Dearing) are in the roles of former Jurrasic World employees. They are surrogate parents of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), a cloned granddaughter of Benjamin Lockwood.
Paleobotanist Laura Dern (as Dr. Ellie Sattler), Mathematician Jeff Goldblum (as Dr. Ian Malcolm), and Paleontologist Sam Neill (as Dr. Alan Grant) are reuniting 30 years later in the film. DeWanda Wise (as a former Air Force pilot), Mamoudou Athie (as lead geneticists), BD Wong, and Omar (as an animal trainer) have also featured in the film, as Kayla Watts, Ramsay Cole, and Dr. Henry Wu, respectively.
With the destruction of Jurassic Park of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs are set free to roam and hunt on earth. Meanwhile, Owen and Claire raise Maisie and a trained Velociraptor (theropod dinosaur) named Blue, who asexually gives birth to an offspring, Beta. However, Biosyn Genetics, a genomics research institute, kidnaps Maisie and Beta for their nefarious ambitions. They want to study their genes to recreate predatory dinosaurs at the cost of humanity.
On their mission to rescue Maisie and Beta, Owen and Claire encounter a suspicious attack by giant locusts destroying the agricultural market. They infiltrate a dinosaur black market where they are released and cause havoc. Later all the casts meet up towards the end, fighting dinosaurs in Biosyn headquarters and rescuing Maisie. Dr. Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott), the CEO of Biosyn Genetics, dies in the process.
Hence, in the end, everyone returns safely to the mainland, locusts are neutralized, Ellie and Alan rekindle their relationship, and dinosaurs adapt to co-exist with modern animals. The United Nations declares Biosyn Valley as a dinosaur sanctuary.
Although the Jurassic World Dominion is the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2022, the critics are going harsh with their ratings. It is the lowest-rated movie in the Jurassic World series. However, its actors have done a great job. The reappearance of the trio of Sam, Laura, and Jeff is like a farewell done well.
As far as the story is concerned, it is full of plot twists, numerous characters, actions, visual effects, and dinosaurs. And, this is something you need to stay on your seats in theatres. But, the repetitiveness of some plots makes them predictable, like the concept of a profitable company Biosyn Genetics and its intentions.
With the advancements in computer technologies, like VFX, and CGI, creating larger-than-life visual effects near to reality is possible. How things have improved from the jerky visuals of the first film to the seamless scenes in this movie, you feel it. Giant dinosaurs moving around humans, their struggles with each other, and the Jurrasic forests recreated will feel like we are in it.
As per the review of Jurassic World Dominion, the farewell film is a moderately good movie. It is worth watching once, especially for those who have watched all its five previous parts.
