It’s been a long time since we heard anything from the team of Matrix 4, and amidst the current situation, the movie industry has taken a huge blow as major projects have been delayed till further notice, and Matrix 4 wasn’t any exception, but thankfully, Keanu Reeves has returned with a new interesting update on the project.
Keanu revealed that they are following all the protocols, however as the old saying goes ‘the show must go on,’ the team is working to their fullest efforts despite dealing with the on-going predicament. Keanu revealed that he is currently in Berlin, and despite all the strict protocols, their ‘rhythm of filmmaking’ hasn’t been interrupted. He further adds that everyone loves the project, and show business people know exactly how to make things work even in a bad situation, and they are working on the project with all their spirits.
As you might already know, the upcoming Matrix 4 might have a totally new story in its store, as the original story was concluded in the trilogy, and as of now, the official plot of the upcoming film has been kept under wraps. However, we have a lot of interesting theories that will keep us entertained until the movie arrives in the theatres.
Matrix 4: Story and Cast
Few key points stated by numerous theories available on the internet include:
- Matrix 4 will take place in the same universe as that of John Wick
- A separate interesting theory states, the villain of the fourth installment will be none other than Keanu Reeves himself

- Neo might be resurrected in Matrix 4
These are some of the most interesting theories that fans have come up with, and there are several other theories, but as these are not from any official sources, we would suggest you take all of these with a pinch of salt. Earlier, Keanu revealed that the film’s script, provided by Lana Wachowski, was great and the story is wonderful which resonated with him, and it has been an absolute honor to work with her again.
As of now, the confirmed cast members include Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Lambert Wilson, and they will play Neo, Trinity, Niobe, and The Merovingian. Other cast members include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ellen Hollman, Neil Patrick Harris, Andrew Caldwell, Priyanka Chopra, Toby Onwumere, Jessica Henwick, Max Riemelt.
We don’t have an official trailer of The Matrix 4, however, we expect it to arrive either in the fall of 2020 or early 2021.
As of now, Matrix 4 will be released on 1st April 2022.
