The new Aprilia Storm 125 launched at Rs. 65,000 which makes it the most affordable model in the company’s Indian line-up. It is positioned right below the Aprilia SR 125. This was first shown at Auto Expo 2018, and it has the same 125 cc engine as the SR 125. It is also pretty similar to SR 125 in terms of design, but there are some visual changes to its characteristics like the new dual-tone paint scheme and the smaller 12-inch wheels with fatter wide all terrain tires.
As I said before, Aprilia Storm 125 has the same 125 cc engine that comes with the SR 125. Diego Graffi, Managing Director and CEO, Piaggio India said during its reveal that “We are delighted to launch the long-awaited Aprilia Storm in India. Known for its undisputed racing heritage, Aprilia uses cutting-edge technology to design and create premium differentiated products for the youth of the country that reflect the true characters of brand Aprilia. The storm has a dynamic exterior theme with vibrant colors, specially designed wide terrain tires, 125 cc engine, and customization through accessories that make it unique.”
This new Aprilia Storm has a 124.5 cc single-cylinder 3-valve engine that powers the SR 125. This motor outputs a maximum of 9.52 bhp at 7250 rpm, and it develops a peak torque of 9.9 Nm at 6250 rpm. This engine combined with a CVT automatic gearbox. This scooter comes with hydraulic telescopic front forks up front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear end. Storm 125 also has a set of new 12-inch black alloy wheels which comes alongside the drum brakes that are both at the front and back, 150 mm and 140 mm units respectively. Moreover, it is assisted by a combi braking system (CBS).
The Aprilia Storm 125 comes in two colors variants which are Matte Red and the Matte Yellow shade which was seen at the Auto Expo. These colors look amazing on the bold black graphics on the front apron and side panels. The whole head unit is painted in black with the Aprilia logo in contrast white. As for the release date, the new Aprilia Storm is available in all Vespa and Aprilia showrooms across India.
