Season 1 had a total of 10 episodes which means there are still 10 episodes missing and the remaining episodes should come to Netflix in the second season. This show is produced by Meg DeLoatch who have worked on Family Matters and Fuller House. Moreover, the Family Reunion is filmed in front of a live studio audience. The show centered around the Seattle-based McKellan family, Moz, his wife Cocoa, and their four kids, Jade, Shaka, Mazzi, and Ami. After visiting Columbus, Georgia for a family reunion, the family decides to live there permanently with their mom, M’Dear. With nothing to save them from boredom, the family puts in hilarious situations that teach them about the important things in life.
If Family Reunion feels like a representation of black family experiences, that’s because it truly is. It was reported by Deadline that DeLoatch put together an all-black writers room for this show, and each of the episodes is infused with the writers’ own experiences. DeLoatch said, “I am extremely proud of this show.” Further adding that “It is a true collaboration, with everyone on this production, from the cast and writers, to the directors, staff, and crew, contributing personal stories and traditions to help make our family dynamic and relatable.”
This is a very good TV show that is worth watching. Even though there isn’t afor part 2 for the series, the fans of this amazing show can comfort in knowing that 10 more episodes are coming their way. For now, you can watch the first season of Family Reunion on Netflix.
