Dororo not as new a name in the anime world as you’d like to think it is. The anime aired first in 2019 by the name Dororo, but it actually is the second adaptation of the Dororo manga by Osamu Tezuka. Dororo aired originally in 1968, after which the original manga was canceled. The serialization back then had only reached Volume 4.
As for the new season of Dororo, the show is basically a two-cour anime. The second part of the season aired its finale episode (numbered 24) on June 24, 2019. It was followed by the 2019 anime, which was released as two Dororo Blu-ray box sets containing 24 episodes on the whole. Dororo Episode 24 may look like it is the final ending to the anime, hence he isn’t much left for Season 2 of Dororo. We are talking from the viewpoint of the source material that’s been utilized.
However, alternatively, Dororo Season 2 may be a possibility, solely on the way animation studio MAPPA handled the ending in Episode 24. There were numerous ways that Dororo could have ended its stint, but it chose to keep the story more open-ended, kind of like the 1969 source material. The finale episode wasn’t conclusive like the 2004 Blood Will Tell: Osamu Tezuka’s Dororo video game, at all. So we think Season 2 May be worth a shot.
As of now, the news is such that MAPPA, the company behind Dororo or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the Dororo Season 2, let alone the update. No announcements have been made in this regard. It is only when the news is officially confirmed that we may be able to convey the same to you.
