The American horror film, Child’s Play was released on 21st June in the United States, and so far, the movie is doing a steady business. Child’s Play is directed by Lars Klevberg, and the man-in-charge of the writing department is Tyler Burton Smith. The movie is the remake of the horror flick of the same name which released back in 1988. The official announcement of the movie came in 2018 and fans were pretty excited about it, however, according to the latest reports, the movie couldn’t live up to the hype it created. The story revolves around a family and their struggle with the doll named Chucky. The family is traumatized and terrorized by Chucky, a high-tech doll which suddenly refuses to work according to the program feed to it. Later it gains self-intelligence and becomes a murderous evil doll.
The film got mixed reviews from the critics, and they praised the story, the performance of the actors, the horror elements and the kills, however, Chucky’s designs and the effects in the movie were criticized.
Child’s Play currently sits on a score of 60% on ‘Tomatometer,’ while the audience score is a mere 59%.
In a recent interview with Mashable, Aubrey Plaza said that when people found out about her being in the movie, many jumped into conclusion that she must be playing the character of doll and she replied with a straight no and revealing about her role as the mom.
She reveals that she doesn’t really pay attention to the genre of the movie that she takes part in. Instead, she is all about committing to the character. She further added that to her, the role of a young mother was pretty interesting, and because of her, she felt the role to be pretty dynamic.
She also felt the role as a challenge when she learned about the murderous doll and adds that these days, the stakes are pretty high and dramas are very surprising.
