Grantchester is currently airing its fourth season on PBS. However, the show has been confirmed to be coming back with the fifth season. The fans are very happy to get the confirmation that there will be a fifth season of the show. So far, there has been no news of a release date of the show. But, it has been revealed that the shooting for the series will start this summer in Cambridgeshire. Grantchester Season 5 will be another high-quality season and there is no doubt about it.

The last three seasons of the show have aired in the first quarter of the year. So, it is very likely that the fifth season is going to follow the same pattern. It will be released in the first quarter of 2020. The fifth season of the show will have six episodes, and they will air weekly on ITV.

ITV has said there will be more casting news that will be announced in some time. The official ITV synopsis for the fifth season has already been revealed. Here is what the synopsis reads: “Series five picks up a year later, in Cambridge in 1957. This is the year Prime Minister Harold Macmillan told the British people that they had ‘never had it so good’. For many of the residents of Grantchester, it really will feel like they’re in a delightful new Eden.”
The filming for the fifth season of Grantchester has not begun yet. So, the trailer for Grantchester season five won’t be out until 2020.
