Today, the royal graced the occasion of the National Portrait Gallery’s reopening in London after an extensive three-year renovation scheme. This gallery holds a special place in her heart, as it has been one of her enduring commitments. Just a year after the royal family, she assumed the role of its esteemed patron.
Kate’s brilliant fashion takes center stage
Kate looked stunning in her outfit for a visit to the National Portrait Galler. She chose a beautiful summer attire consisting of a white tweed blazer with black stitching, adorned with stylish black buttons and a slim integrated belt.
Complementing the blazer was a flowing white maxi skirt with pleats, creating a breezy and elegant look. To complete her ensemble, she opted for black suede slingback pumps, a black quilted leather clutch, a collection of silver rings, and exquisite drop earrings adorned with diamonds and pearls.

At the gallery’s opening, Princess Kate received a warm welcome from the artist Tracey Emin, who was tasked with crafting an artwork symbolizing the essence of “every woman, through time” for the gallery’s entrance. For the gallery’s reopening and installation of new doors, Emin created fresh artworks that incorporated a total of 45 intricately carved brass panels.
During her visit, Kate was guided to the gallery’s learning center, where she learned about an exciting new project designed to inspire young children and local families to engage in creative learning and discovery. Additionally, she had the opportunity to view the ongoing exhibitions on display.
Apart from unveiling the artwork by Tracey Emin, Kate participated in a meeting with kindergarten-aged children who had the opportunity to engage in a captivating “multi-sensory workshop inspired around the imaginary world of Peter Rabbit writer Beatrix Potter”. A video clip shared by Rebecca English from Daily Mail on Twitter revealed that Kate also had a brief encounter with Paul McCartney and his wife during the exhibit.

Kate’s partnership with the National Portrait Gallery
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the princess collaborated with the gallery on a photography venture aimed at documenting how individuals from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles in Britain were managing the repercussions of the virus. The outcome of this project was compiled and published in the book titled, “Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020.”
Kate, who pursued art history at the University of St. Andrews, has demonstrated her fondness for and involvement in the world of art. Over the years, she has captured numerous candid and professional photographs of her family members, particularly her children.
After completing their own royal tour, Kate’s 40th birthday portraits will be displayed on the gallery walls later this year.
