The Saint’s Magic Power Is Omnipotent Season 2 Releases Promo Video
Kadokawa has released the second full promotional video for the upcoming second season of “The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent” anime, based on Yuka Tachibana and Yasuyuki Syuri’s light novel series. The video introduces Aina Suzuki’s ending theme song “Lilac Melody.”
Fans can look forward to daily voice clips from the main characters leading up to the October 3 premiere, which will also mark the start of the Sei to Liz no Ochakai Radio web radio program hosted by Yui Ishikawa and Reina Ueda in character.
The anime’s main cast and staff return for this season, with Crunchyroll streaming it simultaneously with its Japanese broadcast on AT-X, Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and Lemino streaming services.
Scott MacDonald takes over as the new art director, succeeding Tomoyasu Hosoi. Katsuhiro Kawano is now credited as the music producer, distinguishing his role from returning staff member Aira Yūki, who remains credited for “music produce.”
Aira Yūki performs the opening theme song, “Semisweet Afternoon” as part of the upcoming season’s soundtrack.
The Saint’s Magic Power Is Omnipotent started as a light novel series, authored by Yuka Tachibana and illustrated by Yasuyuki Syuri. Originally serialized online in 2016 on the user-generated novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō, it was later acquired by Fujimi Shobo.
Since February 2017, the series has published eight volumes under Fujimi Shobo’s Kadokawa Books imprint. A manga adaptation with artwork by Fujiazuki has been serialized online via Kadokawa Shoten’s ComicWalker website since July 2017, and it has been compiled into eight manga volumes.
Both the light novel and manga have secured licensing in North America through Seven Seas Entertainment.
The Plot
Sei, a 20-year-old office worker, finds herself abruptly transported to a whole new world through a summoning ritual. However, there’s a twist; instead of the expected single “Saint” who would combat dark magic, two individuals are summoned. To Sei’s surprise, everyone seems to favor the other girl over her.
Unperturbed, Sei decides to lead her path by leaving the royal palace and using her newfound magical abilities to establish a business specializing in potions and cosmetics. Sei discovers that this alternate life might not be so bad after all. Yet, the one question remains. Will her supposed Sainthood return to complicate her newfound happiness?
Reaction of Episode 1
In their review of episode 1 of The Saint’s Magic Power Is Omnipotent, Anime News Network’s reviewers delivered a mixed verdict, awarding the series an average of 3 out of 5 stars. They were critical of the generic setting and the somewhat rushed pacing in the initial episode.
The reviewers also found the choice of an older female protagonist in her twenties, as opposed to the typical teenage boy, to be an intriguing and refreshing aspect of the series, although they pointed out that her character development was limited in the first episode.
