Time and time again, several famous stars have appeared on reality TV shows, and it’s nothing new. Similar is the case with this famous actress, Zendaya.
A famous American actress and singer, but before her career really took off, Zendaya was working hard and was seen in several TV shows. At 27, she is known for her phenomenal acting skills and has played some major roles, including in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Dune, and Euphoria. As a Disney Star, Zendaya was already famous, but her adult roles were the ones that really set her up as an amazing actress.
ABC’s show Dancing with the Stars is a reality dancing show that first premiered in 2005. In the show, a celebrity is paired up with a professional dancer. All the pairs perform and compete with other contestants, and the couple who receive the lowest points get eliminated.
The hosts of this show are Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. The judges who judge the couples on Dancing With The Stars are Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli.
Dancing With The Stars: Stars And Their Salaries
According to several sources, it’s believed that the starting salary for celebrities who appear on the show is $125,000. Of course, this isn’t fixed, and this salary can go up as the show progresses. When a celebrity survives the first two weeks and makes it up to the third and fourth week, a bonus of $10,000 per week is added to their salary.
When they reach week five, the bonus is increased to $15,000. In the sixth and seventh weeks, it’s increased to $20,000 per week, and then, for the eighth and ninth weeks, the bonus is increased to $30,000.
The lucky celebrity who makes it to the semi-finals and the grand finale receives an additional $50,000 prize money each week, along with the shiny Mirror Ball trophy.
Meanwhile, the pros, aka the professional partners who train these celebrities, reportedly earn $1,600 per episode. Obviously, these numbers aren’t exact, but it’s enough to keep the pros motivated to stay on the show. A pro who has been on the show for several seasons in a row can negotiate with the salary, their salaries going up to almost $5,200 per episode.
When Was Zendaya On Dancing With The Stars?
Zendaya was one of the celebrities who competed in Season 16 of Dancing With The Stars. It was in the year 2013 when she was 16, she joined the show, making her the youngest contestant ever to participate in the show at the time. She was partnered up with professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy, with whom she gave her best and scored great on the show.
The duo stayed strong and managed to score a perfect 30, a ten from all three judges, on six different episodes. Due to this dominance on the show, everyone believed she might take the winning prize home, but sadly, that didn’t happen.
In May, Valentin and she finished as runners-up behind Kellie Pickler, an American country music singer, songwriter, actress, and TV personality, and Derek Hough. Although Zendaya didn’t win the show, she gave her best with her partner.
At the time, she was best known for her as a child and teen actor who appeared on Shake It Up and Frenemies. Her time during the dancing show was magical because while she was doing great on the show, she also released her most successful single, “Replay.”
Although Kellie’s win is said to be one of the biggest robberies of the show, Zendaya didn’t lose anything. Even today, the actress uses every opportunity possible to showcase the lessons she learned on that show.
Dancing with the Stars is available on ABC, Hulu and Disney+. It premieres live every Tuesday at 8/7c, so don’t forget to tune into this dancing show’s latest episode on 21st November 2023.
