Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 242 will be returning from a break this week and with the chapter being only a few days away from release, the spoilers for the chapter are out. The previous chapter saw a flashback of Takaba and how he had struggled to be an actor when he was in his university.
He never reached success in this profession but still, he tried as he loved doing it. Takaba’s determination was that he wanted to make everyone smile and that included a hundred percent audience. Thus, he feels apologetic for not being able to make Kenjaku laugh and is now determined to make him laugh and thus he gets his confidence and his cursed technique back.
The spoilers for this chapter see Takaba using his cursed technique in the most imaginative way possible. It is indeed like a dream where one can never understand what is the next thing that might come up. It is funny, immersive, and interesting at the same time.
While the whole chapter was like this, there wasn’t much progress but Kenjaku only realized that he wanted to get serious. As per the spoilers, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 242 will be titled “Idiot Surivior – Rise Up” and the chapter begins with Kenjaku summoning a special grade cursed spirit to fight Takaba but the next page which is a double spread sees the cursed spirit being crushed by a Truck that Takaba is driving.

The next page then sees, Kenjaku in the police officer costume investigating the current situation as he accuses Takaba of drink and driving and asks him to blow in a bag to check if he is drunk. However, the bad that Kenjaku has contains dead goldfish, and thus the next panel sees both of them becoming doctors treating the fish in which Kenjaku uses Defibrillators on Takaba.
They aren’t able to save the fish and thus, Takaba is sad but Kenjaku now has a new costume as he is dressed up as a nurse. Takaba doesn’t like this and starts to yell at him and the change in scenario again takes place.

Kenjaku realizes that Takaba’s cursed technique is hurting him while the latter plays out more imaginative scenes
As this scenario is finished, we then see them having a game of rock, paper, and scissors pointing their fingers at each other’s noses. Kenjaku realizes that Takaba’s Cursed Technique isn’t just about the forceful materialization of Takaba’s imagination. It also affects the opponent’s imagination and uses it.

As he does, a new scene plays out where both of them indulge in a quiz game which Kenjaku seems to be winning given that he has more knowledge than Takaba.
In the next scene, the MC of the quiz show asks them to choose the correct door. After realizing the answer to the question and which is the correct door, they both run towards it but midway, Takaba sees someone yelling and sees that there is a cat that is about to be run over by a car and he goes out to save it but the cat then turns into Kenjaku and Takaba is hit by the car.
The scenario again changes and now they are at the sea with Takaba running over Kenjaku with a Jet Ski the next page sees them playing with water like children. Kenjaku starts to think about how amazing he is feeling currently but soon realizes that he is being manipulated by Takaba and goes to attack him.

Takaba stops Kenjaku and asks him to drink the ocean water which turns out to be Fanta. Kenjaku realizes that he will lose at this pace. All these countless scenarios are just simulations for Takaba but Kenjaku is steadily accumulating damage.
Kenjaku realizes that this fight won’t end until Takaba’s desire for comedy is fulfilled. Thus, the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 242 ends with Kenjaku inviting Takaba to a comedy face-off which is the final stage battle. The next chapter will be released without any break and we are assuming that this is going to be the last one between them.
