On a family vacation to Park City, Peta Murgatroyd and Jenna Johnson are spending some quality time with their young sons.
They went on a Chmerkovskiy family vacation with their husbands, Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy, as sisters-in-law and professional dancers.
A sweet photo that Maks and Peta posted to Instagram shows a unique moment between the two mothers.
Peta and Jenna are seen in the picture grinning as they hold their infant sons, Rome, who is turning one year old, and Rio, who is six months old. A sweet family scene is created as the babies stare at something out of frame.

In addition to Rio, Peta and Maks have a son named Shai, who is 7 years old. The couple recently started sharing funny, family-friendly content on social media. Speaking to PEOPLE in the autumn, Maks said the videos show their true humor.
Shai is enthusiastic about being on camera and is actively involved, according to Peta. The family takes pleasure in making these humorous films, making sure Shai knows it’s all in good humor and never pressures him to join in if he’s not feeling it.
Last year, Maks talked to PEOPLE about the importance of growing their family and giving their son Shai a sibling, particularly after dealing with Murgatroyd’s infertility. Maks clarified that Shai was aware of the story about the mother who broke her egg.
Thus, it was important and touching for them all to be able to tell Shai that the egg didn’t break this time. Maks was thrilled to see Shai’s excitement when the baby moved and kicked inside Shai’s stomach, adding to the specialness of the experience.
Peta Murgatroyd’s husband, Fully Taking on “Daddy Duty”
While his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, competes on Dancing with the Stars, Maks Chmerkovskiy is managing the household chores.
Following the Halloween performance on Tuesday night, 37-year-old Murgatroyd talked about how helpful her husband has been in raising their two sons, Rio John, who is 4 months old, and Shai Aleksander, who is 6½ years old.
The professional dancer, who works with Barry Williams, praised Chmerkovskiy, 43, saying in an interview with PEOPLE that “he’s on daddy duty full time right now.”
He’s got Shai for trick-or-treating. He’s doing a fantastic job, and this is the first year I haven’t actually been there.”
Murgatroyd said, “He’s always supporting,” highlighting Chmerkovskiy’s steadfast enthusiasm and support for her dance partner, Barry Williams. He adores Barry. He always has our back. He is, therefore, the best.”
Thinking back on her work with Williams, Murgatroyd told PEOPLE that it wasn’t difficult to get along with him. She said that during their six hours of daily rehearsals, Williams, 69, is an excellent friend and their bond has grown organically from the beginning.

The romantic story of Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd goes beyond the dance floor, even though it demands a partnership.
After first meeting on Broadway in 2009, the pair—who are best known for their work together on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars—kept a strictly platonic relationship going on stage. Their first friendship didn’t develop into a romantic relationship until they were reunited on a reality competition in 2011.
2013 saw Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd rekindle their romance after a brief breakup. The dancing duo has since married and started a family, elevating their relationship to new heights.
Shai Aleksander, Chmerkovskiy, and Murgatroyd’s first child was born in January 2017, and Rio John, their second son, was born in June 2023.
Before they embarked on their Dancing with the Stars journey, Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd first met while working on the Broadway production of Burn the Floor in July 2009.

On July 8, 2017, the couple celebrated their marriage, which was a big step forward. Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy chose to have a private city hall ceremony in New York City before their lavish celebration with family and friends.
The couple first kept their marriage a secret, but during the celebration of their one-year wedding anniversary, they disclosed the information on Instagram.
Looking back on the small-scale wedding, Chmerkovskiy posted clips that showed off the day’s thrills and conveyed his happiness at marrying Murgatroyd.
