A Reacher spinoff series is currently in development at Amazon Prime Video.
The spinoff is being written by Nick Santora, alongside Nicholas Wooton. Santora, who developed Reacher for television, also serves as the executive producer and showrunner of the main series.
While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, it is believed that the spinoff will center on the character Frances Neagley, portrayed by Maria Sten in the original series.
The decision to expand the Reacher universe comes as no surprise given the immense success of the Alan Ritchson-led series, which is based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels.
Reacher was renewed for a third season even before the second season had aired. According to the streamer, the second season was the top title on Prime Video globally during its premiere weekend in 2023, for both series and films.
The global viewership of the series surged by 50% within the first three days following the second season’s debut on December 15, 2023, and it also landed at number two on the Nielsen top 10 streaming charts.
