Eminem fans have something to look forward to, as the rapper is set to make a “comedic” cameo in Adam Sandler’s upcoming film, Happy Gilmore 2.
According to recent reports, the 52-year-old rapper was seen on the movie set in New Jersey earlier this week. Described as an “absolute delight” to work with, Eminem reportedly handled all takes with ease.
It was reported that Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers, was involved in filming secret scenes for the much-anticipated film, which will also feature appearances by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and NFL star Travis Kelce.
An insider told the publication, “Em is a big fan of the original movie, and he was a total pleasure to work with. He was just super low key, he didn’t have a big entourage, and was just an absolute delight on set.”
Eminem, pictured on October 22, was seen preparing for his comedic role, with sources highlighting his comedic timing.
“He’s playing a comedic role and really had fun with it,” the source continued. “He flew in just for this, the night before, and left the following night. It was a one-day shoot.”
This cameo reunites Eminem with Adam Sandler, as the rapper previously appeared in Sandler’s 2009 film Funny People.
Known for his on-screen appearances, Eminem made his Hollywood debut in the semi-autobiographical 2002 film 8 Mile and played himself in the season seven finale of the TV show Entourage.
Meanwhile, Sandler, who has been spotted on set with a stunt double, has brought in several other big names for Happy Gilmore 2.
In September, it was revealed that Bad Bunny, 30, had joined the star-studded cast, which also includes Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce, 35.
Back in August, reports surfaced that Kelce had been discussing his involvement in Happy Gilmore 2 with Sandler on a weekly basis.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who is eager to break into Hollywood, has secured his first major acting role with this film.
In the original 1996 movie, Sandler played the character of Happy Gilmore, a hot-headed aspiring hockey player who discovers he has a natural gift for golf.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in August, Sandler confirmed the sequel was underway and shared, “We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey in a couple of weeks.”
He added, “It’s good, we worked hard on this script, man. We didn’t wanna let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2,’ and I was always like, ‘Nah, I’ll only let you down,’ but then me and my buddy came up with an idea, and we’re really excited about it.”
