Isabel May has been confirmed to play the daughter of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott in Scream 7.
May, widely recognized for her portrayal of Elsa Dutton in the Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, will star alongside Campbell, who returns to the Scream franchise after missing out on the sixth installment due to a salary dispute.
Scream creator and writer Kevin Williamson will direct the seventh film, with Guy Busick, who wrote the scripts for the fifth and sixth films, penning the new script.
Scream 7 is now scheduled to be released in theaters on February 27, 2026, following several production setbacks, including delays, creative changes, and cast shakeups.
In 2023, Melissa Barrera, who appeared in the last two films, was dismissed from the sequel after controversial comments she made about the Israel-Hamas conflict on social media.
Jenna Ortega, who starred alongside Barrera, was forced to drop out of the seventh film due to her commitments to Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday.
Additionally, Christopher Landon, director of Happy Death Day, exited the project in December 2023, describing the experience as “a dream job that turned into a nightmare.” The production was also impacted by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes last year.
Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, with Spyglass Media producing. Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein are producing, while Radio Silence will serve as executive producers.
Beyond 1883 and 1923, May also appeared as Katie Cooper in the Netflix sitcom Alexa & Katie. She is represented by CAA and Principal Entertainment.
