A well-known fitness influencer has passed away three months after being shot during an attempted robbery in the Bel Air area of Los Angeles.
Miguel Angel Aguilar, the founder and CEO of Self Made Training Facility, was critically injured in a shooting on September 13 in the 11400 block of Thurston Circle. Aguilar was rushed to the hospital and initially listed in critical condition.
Los Angeles Police Department officials confirmed to KTLA that four men approached Aguilar and demanded his belongings. During the confrontation, one of the suspects fired at Aguilar, hitting him multiple times. The specific items the suspects were seeking were not immediately disclosed by the LAPD.
Aguilar was later identified in a social media post shared by Self Made Training Facility, which informed followers that he had been “involved in a serious incident” and was “fighting bravely” in the ICU.
After months of battling his injuries, Aguilar passed away on Saturday, a statement from Self Made Training Facility confirmed.
The statement added that he died peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones. “Miguel was more than just a leader; he was a visionary, an inspiration, a mentor, a father, a husband, family, and a dear friend to many,” the statement read.
“Miguel revolutionized personal training and inspired countless individuals to pursue their fitness and entrepreneurial goals.” It also noted, “Miguel’s spirit will live on through Self Made Training Facility.”
